The tech-death masters return with mind-blowing audiovisuals.
As the year comes to a close, the new album announces have begun to pile on, giving us all good reason to look forward to 2022. Among the new ones announced are Allegaeon's new album, DAMNUM, which arrives on February 25th, 2022 via Metal Blade Records. With Dave Otero on production once more and new drummer Jeff Saltzman joining the fold, DAMNUM promises to be a comprehensive beast. In fact, this is the first time an Allegaeon drummer has written all their parts instead of relying solely on programmed drum beats, making this a highly technical rhythm section pairing with bassist Brandon Michael. Guitars, per usual, on an upper echelon of technicality and soul., as lead single Into Embers would suggest. The Travis Smith cover at the forefront is apt at representing the multi=dimension aspects of Into Embers and DAMNUM as a whole, which unfolds with new details after each passing glance and listen.
Frontman Riley McShane comments on the new single:
"As an introduction to our new album, DAMNUM, we are thrilled to present "Into Embers". This song embodies the dark and fitful nature of this album by bringing to the table elements of ourselves as a band and as individual musicians that we have been waiting to share with you all for a long, long time. As always, we are excited for our listeners to join us as we step forward into new landscapes - continuing to push the boundaries of our music further and further - and we are eager to experience the unveiling of DAMNUM together over these next few months."
McShane adds:
"My hope with these lyrics is to have them be relatable to listeners and show them that they're not alone when they're experiencing the gamut of negative emotions - someone else is out there feeling the same way."
