Atmospheric black metal greatness awaits once more.

On September 12, Der Weg Einer Freiheit will release their new album, Innern, via Season of Mist, continuing a discography celebrated for its forward thinking, expansive songcraft and influence. Like contemporaries Wolves In The Throne Room and Deafheaven, they don't shy away from changing a tried and true formula, instead intentionally allowing a myriad of influences to make their way into the music, both consciously and subconsciously. Innern is a definitive statement for the band, one led by the driving single, Eos, and the intriguing Max Löffler cover it sports.
Frontman Nikita Kamprad comments on the new album:
“Since writing the very first song in 2007, Der Weg einer Freiheit has been a journey defined by passion, intensity, and a deep commitment to exploring the fragile thresholds of the human psyche through music.
Over the past years, we’ve grown, evolved, and created something we’re incredibly proud of — and now, we’re excited to share the next step with you. Innern, the new album's title, means ‘inward’ in German and perfectly captures the essence of this record: a meditation on suffering, transformation, and the intimate process of personal reckoning and renewal.”
Stream Eos below and pre-order the record via Season of Mist.
