HANK MAY shares blissful new single 'Patsy DeKline'

The third offering from the emerging artist's forthcoming debut.

Few times will you find compositions as genuine and heartfelt as those that stem from multifaceted talent of LA's Hank May: a singer, songwriter, and producer with a niche for charming hymns. On October 15th, May will issue his debut full-length recording, One More Taste of the Good Stuff, via Dangerbird Records. As May's smile on the cover would suggest, the music embodied within is nothing short of pleasant with soothing melodies and lyricism representative of the human experience. New single Patsy DeKline tells the story of May's guitar buying experience on Craigslist where he met an aging punk woman who performs under the name “Patsy DeKline”. Like previous singles NBC and 2019, Patsy DeKline is a track of pure introspection where May's human connections take center stage as moments that shaped his trajectory as a musician and more importantly, as a person. It's a track for the times, perfectly encapsulating the very essence of why we should value one another and the experiences that we share, all of which are conveyed through May's delightful tone.

May comments on the track:

“I’ve come to see it as a reinterpretation of the rock and roll passing-of-the-torch myth. I want to be clear that I used my imagination to add fictitious details to an actual experience. I have never smashed a guitar on purpose, but I would like to one day. As a matter of fact, if I achieve even a sliver of success in music, no one's guitars will be safe.”
