As contentious as Turnstile's sonic departure has been among the hardcore community, there's no denying that their trailblazing efforts have provided a boundless approach to the genre. In that same vein, Moon Tooth abide by no strict conventions or predetermined conventions for what rock should be and have amassed wide acclaim as a result. Rightfully so, news of new Moon Tooth comes highly anticipated and today's announcement of new album Phototroph adds fire to the flame. It arrives on May 13 via the always consistent Pure Noise Records with a Caroline Harrison of beautiful duality, which aligns well with the album title. New single Carry Me Home electrifies and soars high, making for the perfect soundtrack to your night drive through the city.

Frontman John Carbone comments:

“The theme of plants growing towards the light was just something I kept coming back to in different songs. Our previous record, Crux, was like a crossroads and was dealing with a lot of negative shit. Phototroph is about walking from the middle and picking a road that goes onward and upward on a brighter path.”
