Britain's death doom pioneers return with another heart-wrenching undertaking.
On April 19th, the trailblazing My Dying Bride will release their new album, A Mortal Binding, via Nuclear Blast Records, continuing the upwards trend that 2020's The Ghost of Orion set forth. Signature to the melancholic ensemble, their death doom burns slow and painful, which is strongly the case in their lead single Thornwyck Hymn. Anxiety, loss, and toil are prominent themes to be found, reflecting in one emotional release to dive head first into.
My Dying Bride's Aaron Stainthorpe comments on the track:
“Set upon the rugged coast of Yorkshire, Thornwyck village has spent an eternity being haunted by the chill waters that wash it’s shore – and the hidden folk who dwell in the salty depths.
Woe betide anyone who fares into the briny sea, or even steels to close to it’s edge for they may never set foot back on mother earth”
