The grindcore legends are ready to serve up some riffs and hoppy goodness.
Indiana's Three Floyds Brewing and Pig Destroyer are following up on the success of their first beer collab Permanent Funeral (2013) by bringing out the Army of Hops for Decibel Magazine's Metal & Beer Fest. Complete with stimulating artwork by Chicago's Alberto Ugarte, Army of Hops sports the same kick that PIG DESTROYER's Prowler In The Yard (2001) and Head Cage (2018) delivers. The beer will be poured for the first time exclusively at the festival and you bet your ass that Heaviest of Art will be in line to indulge in the brew.
Three Floyds talks to Decibel about the beer:
"Like Permanent Funeral, Army of Hops is a highly-hopped IPA. We’re bringing the ABV down for drinkability and adding lactose for a sweeter finish. Bottom line … Scott Hull is a beer ‘enthusiast’ (nerd) and wanted a milk IPA.”
Pig Destroyer guitarist Scott Hull comments:
“Round two; this time it’s personal. Army of Hops is perfectly paired with thrashing out with your pals, upturning sofas, punching holes in drywall, creating unidentified stains in the carpet and setting your furniture on fire in the backyard. Just in time for the holiday season too. Perfect gift for your entire family.
Don't miss the stacked Decibel Magazine's Metal & Beer Fest in Los Angeles on December 1st and 2nd with performances from Testament, Godflesh, The Black Dahlia Murder, Power Trip, Khemmis, Triptykon, Pig Destroyer, YOB, and several more. Join Heaviest of Art and get your tickets here.
