As if January's release of We Are Always Alone and last month's surprise split with Chat Pile weren't already enough, Portrayal of Guilt up the ante on extremity and announce their Run For Cover label debut, CHRISTFUCKER. As the album title would entail, it's unsettling, and rightfully so, as it elaborates on the band's tormenting themes of unbridled pain, anguish, and loss. It all arrives on November 5th, but until then, let lead single Possession guide you towards the Portrayal's genre fluid hymns. What guitarist/vocalist Matt King, drummer James Beveridge, and bassist Alex Stanfield have crafted here is not for the faint of heart, but it's a worthwhile excursion into the dark depths of the human psyche.

Frontman Matt King comments:

“We think of it partially in the sense of scoring a horror movie. We wanted to create an atmosphere of anxiety and fear.”
