Glimpses of their earlier era shine through the barn burner of a track.

This past Friday saw the annual Knotfest take place at the grand Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, delivering thrilling performances from Fever 333, Code Orange, Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, and of course, Slipknot among others. To coincide with the festival, the band released their newest single, The Chapeltown Rag, earlier that day and gave it its live debut as well, paving the path for a yet-to-be-announced new album. Slipknot look back to their unbridled roots and craft a ripper of an outing chock full of turbulence and aggression. Consider it a glimpse of what awaits in the new year.

Frontman Corey Taylor comments:

“It’s a punisher man. It's classic Slipknot. And it's frenetic. But lyrically, it's coming from a point of talking about the various manipulations that can happen when social media meets media itself. And the different ways that these manipulations can try to pull us in different directions, in the fact that we're all becoming addicts to it, which is very, very dangerous.”
