The shelved second album now sees the light with astounding cover artwork to boast.
On February 10th, Peaceville Records will give way to Darkthrone's Goatlord: Original — a collection of melodic yet technical death metal tracks initially meant to comprise the band's sophomore album just prior to A Blaze in the Northern Sky. Though distinct to that of the trailblazing black metal that shaped the genre moving forward, Goatlord is reflective of their expansive craft and the once hidden album will now be available three decades later. Goatlord: Original contains the tracks in their original instrumental form, recorded in the band’s rehearsal space (vocals were added in the mid-90’s before an official release came through Moonfog Productions in 1996), with the classic line-up of Gylve ‘Fenriz’ Nagell on drums, Nocturno Culto on lead guitar, Ivar Enger on rhythm guitar, and Dag Nilsen on bass.
You can pre-order the record now and gaze at Bielak's awe-inspiring cover below.
