The PNW strikes again with a warring black metal effort.
Bands with artistic talents within their ranks are few and far in between. Portland's DROUTH are among those with founding member Matt Stikker standing as one of metal's prominent artists as of late. Having illustrated covers for WITCH VOMIT, POWER TRIP, and OUTER HEAVEN to name a few, Stikker has a way of incorporating gruesome detail into the compositions represented, as evident in the newly announced DROUTH record Excerpts From A Dread Liturgy.
Arriving on July 31st via Translation Loss Records, Excerpts From A Dread Liturgy serves as a proper follow up to 2017's Knives, Labyrinths, Mirrors with an uncompromising take on metal's most sadistic subgenre. The band shared the lead single A Drowning in Sunlight as a taste of the swarming intensity that awaits.
