Indonesia's PURE WRATH do atmospheric black metal justice with 'The Forlorn Soldier'

Exploring the country's dark past through heaviness.

The retelling of one's tortured past through music is never easy given the toll it took and the pressures associated with reminiscing. Those that do are to be commended for it, and even more so if the accompany music is of high caliber. Indonesia's PURE WRATH are one to be commended for this very reason as their new EP The Forlorn Soldier illustrates the forceful nature of recruitment for war in 1960's Indonesia via the wonder of atmospheric black metal. The EP is set to arrive on March 6th via Debemur Morti Productions.

PURE WRATH's Debemur Morti label debut sets the path for a forthcoming third LP through a delivery of musicianship that results from a dedication to craft. With drum assistance from Yurii Kononov (ex-White Ward) and piano contributions by Dice Midyanti (Victorian), multi-instrumentalist Januaryo Hardy and PURE WRATH reach new heights. From it's relentless tremolo picked melodies to the drum barrage present througohut, lead single When A Great Man Dies serves a great deal of introduction to the cascade of emotions listeners will dive into upon the full release.
