Featuring members of Autopsy, Mortuous, Necrot, Ghoul, and more.
If you've delved into the world of heavy music in recent years, there's a high chance you have come across the mention of Earhammer Studios. The Oakland-based studio and it's founder, the renowned Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Deathgrave), have worked with some of the heaviest bands of years past, including NECROT, UNDERGANG, MORTUOUS, VASTUM, AUTOPSY, and ACEPHALIX to name a few. After having released a debut demo (2016) under the LEATHER GLOVE moniker, Wilkinson is back to release his debut full length Perpetual Animation on March 8, 2019 on tape, digital, and vinyl via Sentient Ruin in the US and Dawnbreed Records in the EU.
What can you expect from a man that has worked on records such as the Grammy-winning Electric Messiah, Blood Offerings, Through Wilderness, and Misantropologi? Well, lets just say that this solo effort is as heavy as everything that has came out of that sacred space. Wilkinson's death-doom outing is joined by drummers Chad Gailey (Necrot, Vastum, Mortuous) and Dustin Ferris (Apraxic, Engorged) and shredders Sean McGrath (Ghoul, Impaled), Shelby Lermo (Vastum, Ulthar, Extremity), Eric Cutler (Autopsy), and Danny Corrales (Autopsy, Abcess). This thirty-minute composition is Bay Area filth at it's finest. Combining elements of death metal, D beat, crust, sludge, doom, and industrial noise, this could very well be one of this year's most varied heavy releases.
