High intensity shows in a ~500-capacity room always hit different, and when Unprocessed hit The Roxy last month, that was very much the case.
Standout progressive metalcore band Unprocessed stopped by Los Angeles on their spring 2026 North American Tour and from the moment doors opened, it was clear there was an anticipatory crowd comprised of fans who clearly knew the band’s technical catalog inside out. The floor was packed in and the energy became amplified from every down-tuned riff and syncopated groove. It felt physically present, reverberating through the floor.
Normally, there's enough breathing room to roam around the venue to get a variety of photographs from different angles. However, that was not the case this evening and I was cornered into the same location, and rightfully so given the soundtrack on display.
Angel was the star of the show as selections from the celebrated album made their way into the band's varied setlist, which included other fan favorites such as Hell / Lore. Djent precision and tight rhythmic interplay were present from one track to the next, all being met by great enthusiasm. Beyond it being a technical masterclass, there was soul, as Deadrose went on to prove. Ambient textures shifted to crushing breakdowns, offering a deliberate pacing to keep one engaged rather than exhausted.
Manuel Gardner Fernandes commanded at the forefront, spearheading the visible chemistry among them all. Their clean, intricate playing paired well with the relatively minimal stage setup, letting lighting shifts and performance dynamics do the heavy lifting.
As noted before, Unprocessed didn't simply deliver technical proficiency, but control and a balanced precision with chaos in a way that few contemporary acts manage to do so live. They translate studio complexity into a visceral live experience without losing clarity or impact. Their upward trajectory in 2026 isn’t just hype, it’s momentum backed by real, crowd-tested performance power.
