Four years from their self-titled debut and San Francisco's Succumb come back for blood with their assertive new record, XXI. Arriving on September 24th via the always eclectic stable at The Flenser, XXI derives from The World - the final tarot card in the Major Arcana, a card with geometric imagery resembling four elements. The talented Stefan Thanneur took on the card's significance and reinterpreted it through a unique lens that stands tall as an immersive visual offering that pairs well with the otherwise uncompromising nature of the tracks. Each member's love for Napalm Death and war metal is strongly present on XXI with lead single Okeanos getting right in your face from the get go. It bares mentioning that the renowned Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker, etc.) had a hand in the recording process, allowing for each layer of the band's death metal to establish a fruitful presence. Take Okeanos for a spin and let the complexities entrance you whole.
