THE BROAD welcome Thundercat, Arooj Aftab, and more to 'Summer Happening Series'

A variety of exquisite performances and exhibitions return to the LA museum.

After a 3-year hiatus, The Broad is bringing back its celebrated Summer Happening Series to Los Angeles, bridging an expansive collection of art with some of music's most trailblazing acts of today. Among the performers is the GRAMMY-winning Thundercat, GRAMMY-winning multi-instrumentalist Arooj Aftab, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, Ginger Root, and a wealth of others that span all ends of the musical spectrum for evenings of pure splendor. On the arts, The Broad will host This Is Not America’s Flag, a special exhibition that collects various artistic viewpoints for the symbolism of the American flag, as well as exclusive after hours access to the museum and its many wondrous works. The aforementioned Thundercat will partner his performance with Takashi Murakami's Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow (2014) exhibition for one comprehensive audiovisual experience. Performances will all take place throughout the museum and on the adjacent East West Bank Plaza at The Broad. Here's the rundown:
